THE OPPORTUNITY: As a member of the Funding team, you will provide excellent service to internal and external customers.  You will answer questions related to specific funding questions as well as details regarding the disbursement to solicitor trust accounts. As a Funder/Instructor you will be responsible and the point of contact for all funding requests from closing companies (FCT/FNF). You will be responsible for calculating and releasing loan wire amounts in a timely and accurate manner. You will work closely with various teams including Credit Operations, Servicing and Finance.

Role Specific Accountabilities include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Ensure solicitor instructions packages are accurate and sent out within the required SLA to Closing Service FCT/Solicitor  
  • Identify, investigate and resolve Closing Service FCT/Solicitor issues using good judgment/decision making skills
  • Explain/clarify policies and procedures relating to funding information to internal and external customers
  • Prepare disbursement to Closing Service FCT/Solicitor by wire transfer within required SLA
  • Liaise with Closing Service FCT/Solicitor, Credit Operations and Finance to rectify deficiencies – Ensure no missed funding’s on complete files  
  • Recommend solutions to increase efficiency and implement changes upon approval
  • Ensure that all Broker and Solicitor conditions have been met, all documentation has been received and that file is complete on the day of closing
  • Ensure all closings posted accurately in RUBI
  • Responsible to run End of Day report to verify all loans posted correctly

Educational /Technical Experience:

  • University/College degree in related field considered an asset 
  • Mortgage industry experience (including working knowledge of the mortgage funding process/up to date mortgage product knowledge)
  • Working knowledge of legal mortgage documents is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of MBS documentation 
  • Speed and accuracy in typing

  • Working knowledge of Internet and Email Applications (Outlook/Outlook Express)
  • Expert knowledge of Excel/ MS Project

  • Detail oriented
  • Sense of humour
